Condemnation of Hate Speech by Praveen Togadia

We strongly condemn the hate speeches delivered by Praveen Togadia of Vishwa Hindu Parishad and demand his immediate arrest and prosecution.

The sudden spate of hate speeches and competitive communalism has been unleashed to polarize communities and reap electoral benefits in the forthcoming elections of 2014. This politics of hate is worst than murder as it leads to grave loss to national economy, destruction of property, injuries and killings of hundreds of poor and innocent.

Hence we demand the Central and State Governments should take immediate steps to arrest all those involved in hate speeches or instigation of communal violence and establish Fast Track Courts to prosecute and punish the offenders within a specified time frame, irrespective of how high or powerful they might be.

We demand passage of Prevention of Communal Violence Bill in the coming session of Parliament. We also appeal to the people of all communities not to be carried away by such irresponsible speeches and be patient and rational in order to maintain decorum and safeguard the secular culture of our country.
